Dr. Tanner has over fifteen years of experience working with children and adolescents with learning, emotional, and behavioral problems. Her unique combination of experience as a special education teacher and psychologist allow her not only to conduct evaluations, but also to recommend and provide interventions that are effective and feasible. Having spent several years working for school districts, Dr. Tanner is well-versed in special education procedures, Response to Intervention (RtI), and 504 accommodation plans, making her uniquely qualified to provide consultation for educational programming.
Dr. Tanner conducts comprehensive assessments for a variety of purposes. The evaluations can be used for diagnostic clarification for learning disabilities or dyslexia, ADHD, anxiety, depression, developmental disorders, and intellectual disabilities diagnosis. The evaluation reports can be used for private school admission and program planning, diagnostic clarification for treatment planning, special education eligibility determination, Independent Education Evaluations (IEE), and Katie Beckett Deeming Waiver eligibility.

She has provided services in an autism clinic, residential centers, public schools, and in private practice. Dr. Tanner received degrees in elementary and special education from West Virginia University. She was awarded her Ph.D. in School Psychology from University of South Florida. She completed her APA-approved doctoral internship at the Hope Institute for Children and Families and The Autism Program of Illinois (TAP). Dr. Tanner’s postdoctoral training was completed in a private practice where she focused on assessment of autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and behavioral problems in children and adolsecents.
Ms. Kendra Witherspoon is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Board Certified Counselor with years of experience working with at risk youth and families.
Earning her Bachelor’s degree at Auburn University and Master’s degrees in Professional Counseling and Public Health Promotion at Liberty University, she is a compassionate, insightful, and creative clinician who maintains years of experience in educational advocacy for at risk populations, clinical case management and assessment, non-profit programming and directing, and wellness and prevention public health promotion. She has also spent 16 years in military service and over 20 years in performing arts.
She has training in trauma focused care in children, crisis intervention and supports, expressive arts, and family systems. She has experience in working with children and teens in the foster care system with symptoms of anger/aggression, depression and anxiety, impulsivity, communication struggles and family/social relational conflicts.
Her work with youth focuses on building self-esteem and self-concept, increasing coping skills, and decreasing angry or disruptive behaviors while fostering creativity, self-love, and personal insight and emotional intellect.
She focuses in Cognitive Behavioral, Strength based and Solutions Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered, and Creative Integrative approaches to meeting your child’s wellness and counseling goals. She believes in the consideration of the “whole self” by taking a holistic standpoint in helping your child be the best they can be.

LaTonya Bell, MA, LPC is a licensed professional counselor who enjoys individual and family treatment with pre-teens, adolescents, adults and couples. Ms. Bell finds motivation and passion through healing others who are experiencing life struggles and are seeking assistance with coping with life stressors. Ms. Bell assists individuals who are dealing with concerns including anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger management, relational problems, and conflict resolution. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Person Centered therapeutic frameworks to address thought processes and behaviors. Ms. Bell has over 10 years of experience working in various clinical settings including community outpatient programs, inpatient psychiatric facilities, CORE programs, and managed care organizations.

The evaluation process begins with an initial consultation appointment where you will share information about your specific concerns regarding your child. We use this information to develop an individualized battery of tests. Your child will participate in one or more testing appointments and we will also collect information through rating scales or other sources. At the feedback session, you will receive a copy of your child’s evaluation report including test results, diagnostic impressions, and specifically tailored recommendations.
